Residence Permit

Your residence permit acts as the permit to ensure your legal stay in China within the valid period, and also acts as a multi-entry visa enabling you to visit places both within and outside the Chinese mainland. The Office of International Affairs will help you with the documents of the residence permit and accompany you to the division of the Exit and Entry of Public Security Bureau Qingdao. The application should be finished within 30 days after your arrival in China if you come to China on a Z-Visa, or 15 days before the Expiry of your residence permit if you want to extend your current residence permit. It usually takes 10 working days to get your passport back.

Please pay attention to the expiry date of your visa or resident permit. For the first offence the penalty is 500 Yuan per day for any period of illegal stay in China, with more severe punishment for any subsequent offence.

Please note the difference between the residence permit and visa. Visas are usually issued by Chinese embassies and consulates abroad and are clearly marked VISA (VISA). The residence permit is a conversion procedure for legal residence within China that exceeds the 30 days occurring after entry on the relevant visa.

For specific requirements, please refer to the Entry-Exit Administration Law of the People's Republic of China.
