On February 24, 2023, Ms. Lin Bin , deputy secretary-general of Qingdao Municipal Party Committee, visited our university to investigate the cooperation and exchange between the university and Guyana.Mr. Zhou Cheng, deputy governor of West Coast New District, Reception Office of the General Office of Qingdao Municipal Party Committee and the District Foreign Affairs Service Center accompanied. Wan Yunbo, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of UPC, directors of the Office of International Affairs, College of International Education and the Science and Technology Department attended the meeting.
Huang Fang, director of the Office of International Affairs and College of International Education , welcomed Ms. Lin and her colleagues , thanked the government of Qingdao and the West Coast New Area for their long-term support and help to the development of UPC. He introduced the university's history, academic advantages and achievements in international talent training, said that the school has always attached great importance to international exchanges and cooperation and hoped to continue to give full play to its advantages.
Ms. Lin praised the school's contributions to the national energy security strategy and their achievements in external cooperation and exchange in higher education. She introduced Guyana's economic and social development, China-Guyana relations and its strategic position as the world's leading oil producer in the future. She planned to promote the university's joint education with Guyana universities in the field of oil and energy, and said that Qingdao is willing to promote the common development of both sides and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
Officials from the Science and Technology Department, Office of International Affairs, the College of International Education and the Foreign Affairs Service Center of West Coast New District put forward specific suggestions on how to carry out joint school running and actively strive for resources and policies to ensure the implementation of cooperation. Both sides carried out in-depth exchanges and discussions.
