Spring is in the air. The College of International Education (CIE) Five Continents Culture into School Series continued on April 8, 2024, with international student volunteers from Pakistan, Russia, Laos, Tajikistan, Iran, and Vietnam going to Haiwang Road Elementary School in the West Coast New District for cultural exchanges. The event was led by international student counselors Yingzi Sang and Hui Su.
At the beginning of the activity, the Principal of Haiwang Road Primary School, Cui Xianhua, expressed a warm welcome to our teachers and students, and organized a discussion between the relevant departments and the international student volunteers on the theme of “Building bridges of friendship, Expanding international vision”. They had an in-depth and friendly exchanges on language learning and international understanding of primary school students.
During the activity, international student volunteers engaged in various forms of cultural exchanges with the students of Haiwang Road Primary School, established friendships and cultivating cross-cultural communication skills in a positive and harmonious atmosphere.

After the event, Deng Lianghui, a Laotian international student from the School of Economics and Management of our univeristy, said, “The good spirit and strong enthusiasm for cultural exchange shown by the students of Haiwang Road Primary School in this event made me more determined to continue to be a good vounteer for cultural exchange among international students. I hope that our university will keep on carrying out the series of activities of Five Continents Culture into School, providing more exchange opportunities for Chinese and foreign students and accelerating the growth of cultural exchange ambassadors.”
The Five Continents Culture into School Series is a regular activity organized by the College of International Education of China University of Petroleum (East China) to strengthen cultural exchange, understanding and integration between Chinese and foreign youths, aiming to cultivate a new spirit of volunteer service among international students, enhance the international vision of primary and secondary school students, and create a new mode of school-local linkage for talent cultivation.
