The online special project of international Chinese Teacher Scholarship for spring semester 2022 has been successfully completed

The online Chinese and Chinese Culture program of the spring semester 2022 International Chinese Teacher Scholarship has been successfully concluded recently. A total of 93 students from 13 countries completed their 4-month online study with great success.

This online teaching program is a special online learning scholarship program launched by The Chinese-Foreign Language Cooperation and Exchange Center of the Ministry of Education to explore the new mode of "Internet + International Chinese Education" and provide opportunities for overseas Chinese learners to continue their learning in the context of the global epidemic. Our school actively responded to the application, improved the online teaching process, and organized project students to take part in online HSK and hskk examinations, helping the program students to consolidate and improve their Chinese proficiency, increase their understanding of modern China, and enhance their understanding and love of Chinese culture.

The program starts on March 7th and ends on June 24th. It is divided into three classes: elementary, intermediate and advanced. Through the implementation of multi-level Chinese teaching and Chinese skill training, the program students have achieved comprehensive improvement in listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation. Through the study of China Overview course, students have a deeper understanding of China's politics, economy, society, history, culture, technology and other aspects. Through this project, our school enables foreign Chinese learners and teachers to approach China and Petroleum University from the "Cloud System", and promotes the international promotion of Chinese language and culture education.

Students from Russia, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Laos, Tajikistan, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Pakistan and other 5 countries participated in the program. The students were satisfied with the program and expressed their gratitude after the courses were finished. Shatalova Nadezhda, head of a local foreign language school from Russia, said, "The whole learning process made me feel comfortable, like I was a student again. Through this training activity, we have gained a lot, which has opened our eyes. Both in theory and professional skills, it is a great improvement and useful complement for us. Chen Yanfen, a vice principal at a local high school in Laos, took part in the online learning program with several of her students. She especially thanked the Chinese teachers for spending their free time to teach the class at night. She said that “The teaching content prepared by the teachers is very rich and interesting. For example, the mobile library of oral class, the analysis of misused words in reading class, the dictation of words before writing class and listening class, listening practice and writing training. Through the study, our Chinese level has greatly improved.” Maria Fernanda Hernandez Rodriguez and Carlos Junco Chavez, both from Mexico, took he intiative to sent an unsolicited thank-you note after the program ended, "thanking the university and its faculty for opening online courses to people like us who live far away from China, so that we can continue to learn and appreciate all that China has to offer the world."
