UPC Delegation visits Russian Universities

From October 16th to 19th, Wang Yong led a delegation to visit Russina universities, including Moscow State University, St. Petersburg Peter the Great Institute of Technology, St. Petersburg University of Mining and Technology, Russian State Gurkin University of Petroleum and Natural Gas, and the Chinese Embassy in Russia to deepen inter school exchanges and educational research cooperation. Faculties from Office of International Affairs, the National Key Laboratory of Heavy Oil, the School of Materials Science and Engineering, and the School of Foreign Languages accompanied the visit.

At St. Petersburg University of Mining and Technology, President Litvinenko, Vice Presidents Petrakov and Liubin, as well as heads of departments such as the International Department, Earth Science Center, Oil and Gas Center, and Arctic Science Center, had discussions and exchanges with Wang Yong and his delegation. Litvinenko warmly welcomed UPC delegation to visit, and Wang Yong, on behalf of UPC, congratulated the school on its 250th anniversary celebration and achievements. Both sides reviewed the close cooperation between the two schools in academic exchange and talent cultivation in the past decade, introduced the school's educational characteristics, disciplinary advantages, and development goals to each other, explored new areas and ways of cooperation in the new era, and reached an agreement on jointly strengthening the cultivation of undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students, teacher visits, and scientific research cooperation.

During their visit to Peter the Great University of Technology in St. Petersburg, the two schools introduced each other to their educational history, current development status, and past cooperation. They delved into cooperation in talent cultivation and joint research, and reached a broad consensus on promoting the development of the Sino Russian Union of Engineering Universities, establishing a cooperative partnership, and signing an intercollegiate agreement.

At Moscow State University, Wang Yong and his delegation visited the Geological Museum and Petrochemical Laboratory. Vice President Alexander Lovich and Assistant President Pavlovich of the university had discussions and exchanges with our delegation. Both sides introduced the school's educational history and development achievements to each other, deeply explored cooperation channels in student joint training, academic exchange, scientific research cooperation, and joint construction of research bases, and conducted detailed discussions on strengthening short-term visits, scientific research cooperation, special research classes, dual degree, undergraduate and graduate joint training between teachers and students in fields such as chemistry, biology, and foreign languages, and reached cooperation intentions.

During their visit to the Russian State Gubkin University of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Wang Yong and his delegation visited the university's oil and gas teaching center and oil and gas storage and transportation laboratory, and had discussions and exchanges with Vice President Maximenko, as well as leaders from the International Department, the School of Geology and Geophysics, the School of Oil and Gas Field Development, and the School of Pipeline Transportation System Design, Manufacturing, and Operations. Both sides reviewed the close cooperation and effectiveness in talent cultivation and teacher exchange, and deeply explored cooperation in areas such as student joint training, short-term teacher exchange, professor teaching, and joint scientific research. They affirmed the good results achieved by jointly serving as the seventh rotating chairman unit of the China Russia Engineering University Alliance and leading the establishment of the Green Development Academic Sub Alliance, and reached consensus on further promoting the high-quality development of the alliance.
